Birte Coppers at Universitat Jaume I in Spain
I had the great pleasure of spending part of October and November at the Universitat Jaume I in beautiful Castellón, Spain, with the Biomechanics and Ergonomics research group! The experience was truly amazing, allowing me to actively engage with the exciting work of the group in the fields of hand biomechanics, hand rehabilitation, and exoskeletons, just to name a few!
I thoroughly enjoyed learning and exchanging experiences and knowledge, particularly on hand funcion assessments and EMG, with my host Verónica Gracia-Ibáñez and the whole team. The in-depth discussions and ongoing collaboration on our forearm EMG data set during functional tasks in healthy controls and arthritis patients have greatly advanced our analysis.
A big thank you to the whole team for welcoming me into your group and introducing me to your city and culture – I truly enjoyed the experience!
A special thanks to my supervisors at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, Anna-Maria Liphardt and Georg Schett, for their support throughout my journey, as well as the amazing CRC EmpkinS – Empathokinaesthetic Sensor Technology for making this possible!
