Ethics Talk
The “Ethics Talks” is a series of lectures and discussions between PIs and SFB/CRC scientists, addressing the ethical and legal aspects of different topics in Europe and worldwide.
The first Ethics Talk was conducted on 02 December 2021 with Dr. Matthias Braun as the keynote speaker.
On 13 May 2022 the second Ethics Talk „AI Ethics – From Principles to Practice“ was given by Prof. Dr. Peter Dabrock.
On 19 January 2023, the third Ethics Talk was held. Professor Matthias Braun presented “Ethical and Societal Chances and Challenges of AI-driven Health Simulations”. In his talk, he challenged the audience to think critically about the boundaries between self and digital representations of one’s thoughts and body that could be potentially used in diagnostics and treatment.
Furthermore, on October 19th, 2023, Prof. Dr. Peter Dabrock held the fourth Ethics Talk at the MaD-Lab. At this time Prof. Dr. Dabrock talked about AI Ethics Regulations.
The first Ethics Talk of 2024, and the fifth one of our ethics series, was an Introduction and Discussion of the responsibilities of the FAU Ethics Committee by Prof. Dr. Nicolas Rohleder.
