General Meeting
On October 26th, 2021, the 1st general meeting of the CRC took place in ibaForum in Fürth. The focus of the day was for the researchers to get to know each other and their topics. In addition, the first concrete cooperation plans were discussed and important organizational and content-related information on the SFB and its iRTG were passed on. In addition, the three associated members – the Profs. Klucken, Cottatellucci, and Egger – as well as the representative of doctoral candidates and PIs – Julia Yip, Falk Pulsmeyer, Lydia Rupp, Dr. Liphardt, and Prof. Müller – as part of the iRTG coordination team has been elected.
The 2nd general meeting of EmpkinS took place in Hotel Freihof, Prichsenstadt. From the 14th to the 16th of February, 2023, the scientists had three very productive days filled with workshops, talks, and poster sessions.
In addition to members of the CRC, three guests attended the meeting: Our PIs were able to expand their skills in the field of gender equality through Prof. Hofmeister’s workshop on the subject of „Understanding processes that turn difference into disadvantage in academic careers“. Prof. Elsa Kirchner and Prof. Thomas Kaiser, both from the University of Duisburg-Essen, enriched the meeting with their presentations on their research areas and the TRR 196 (MARIE).
These contributions and the participants´ commitment and enormous willingness to discuss made the meeting a successful event.
From 29-30 April, our EmpkinS PIs met for a two-day retreat at the Diözesanhaus conference center in Vierzehnheiligen near Bad Staffelstein to present the current status of their sub-projects as well as their plans for the next CRC funding period and joint work packages. The pleasant working atmosphere in beautiful surroundings was characterized by good ideas and effective collaboration. A further meeting at the end of June will result from the proposals collected so far on the sub-project co-operations. We are looking forward to exciting research alliances.
