As a CRC of FAU we are part of the F3G network.
EmpkinS is part of the F3G association. The aim of the F3G is the networking of currently 27 research groups at the FAU and the appropriate use of DFG equal opportunity funds in accordance with the guidelines in order to improve equal opportunities and the compatibility of science and family for the members of the F³G. In addition to the jointly planned measures, the F³G offer a platform for exchanging experiences with individual measures and the opportunity to jointly initiate and implement new, extensive measures. For example, the F³G secures a contingent of places for the children of its employees, finances mobile parent-child rooms at the various locations of the research groups, supports the holiday care in the realization of differentiated support offers for girls in STEM subjects and offers a special workshop program to support young scientists of the underrepresented gender.
The networking event is meant for participants of all qualification levels from student assistants to professors and invited external, national and international speakers. The conference includes not only scientific topics but also networking, information and advice on financial support opportunities for women as well as study and career planning.
A joint day at the Fraunhofer EMFT in Munich (https://www.emft.fraunhofer.de/en.html) is planned for this year’s meeting. Amélie Hagelauer, PI in sub project A03, is one of the two directors of EMFT.
On that day, the participants can look forward to an interesting workshop on the subject of „Thriving in a male-dominated workplace“ and a tour of the institute’s laboratories, during which they will learn a lot about the exciting research projects in the field of microsystems technology. Of course, there will also be enough time to get to know each other (better) and to exchange experiences and advices.
