We are thrilled to announce that Birte Coppers, along with her co-authors Simon Heinrich, Koray Tascilar, Uday Phutane, Arnd Kleyer, David Simon, Johanna Bräunig, Johann Penner, Martin Vossiek, Verena Schönau, Sara Bayat, Georg Schett, Sigrid Leyendecker, and Anna-Maria Liphardt, have published groundbreaking research in Scientific Reports!

In this study, they utilized an opto-electronic measurement system to evaluate fine motor skill impairments and basic hand movements in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Their findings indicate that certain tasks from the Moberg Picking-Up Test (MPUT) may serve as sensitive and quantitative biomarkers of functional impairment in RA, while other kinematic components were similar to healthy controls. This research offers initial insights into developing new biomarkers focusing on hand impairment in RA, promoting a more patient-centered approach to disease management.

Congratulations on this great success!
