The VDE Bayern Award, celebrating outstanding achievements in the fields of „Science,“ „Industry,“ and „School,“ was presented for the 16th time at the Bayerischer Hof in Munich on November 21, 2024.

Radar-based sensing is an innovative method for measuring vital parameters, allowing for contactless monitoring of patients. Based on this technology, EmpkinS doctoral candidate Marie Oesten developed a novel, contactless measurement technique for capturing pulse waves and heart sounds in her master’s thesis. She collaborates interdisciplinary with palliative care specialists and high-frequency engineers. The jury recognizes her outstanding achievements with the VDE Bayern Award 2024.
