The EmpkinS Spokespersons Martin Vossiek and Björn Eskofier visited Paolo Bonato at the Motion Analysis Laboratory (MAL) at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Boston, MA. Paolo Bonato serves as Director of the MAL, and he is Professor at Harvard Medical School. Spaulding Rehabilitation is a world leader in advanced rehabilitation treatment and research. After a MAL Lab tour and a talk of Martin Vossiek entitled „Empathokinaesthetic Sensing – Advanced Wireless Motion Capture Technologies for Remote Assessment of Inner Humans States” options for future collaboration were discussed.

During their Boston tour Björn Eskofier, and Martin Vossiek visited Dina Katabi at MIT, on June 17, 2022. Dina Katabi is Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge. She is one of the world-leading scientists in the area of wireless sensing and machine learning with application to digital health. Through her research, which is closely linked to EmpkinS topics, interesting discussions and many starting points for further cooperation arose. A visit of the MIT Media Lab rounded off the visit.

In the past, May 12th 2022, Dina Katabi also took part in one of the famous EmpkinS Invited Talks with her presentation on „Monitoring People and their Vital Signs Using Radio Signals and Machine Learning“.
